ASIDE Merino Wool Jackets and Sweatshirts

The ASIDE collection of merino wool jackets and sweatshirts is designed not only to provide warmth and protection, but also to become the starting point of any outfit. It combines the functionality of warm outerwear with silhouettes that remain visually light and easy to style.

At the heart of the collection is merino wool: soft, pleasant to the touch and breathable. Depending on the design, we use wool fleece with a weight of 380 or 450 gsm, giving each piece a distinctive texture while providing thermal comfort. This makes our merino jackets and sweatshirts suitable as outer layers during transitional seasons and as warm wardrobe staples during the colder months.

Teddy Merino Wool Sweatshirts

The Teddy Sweatshirt is one of ASIDE's most distinctive designs. It is made from 100% merino wool fleece and, depending on the colour, comes in either 380 or 450 gsm. It is an ideal natural alternative to synthetic fleece.

Teddy is available in several variations, all sharing a relaxed, oversized fit, high collar, zip fastening and cotton finishing details. Teddy Long also features pockets and an elasticated drawstring tunnel at the bottom hem, allowing you to adjust both its length and silhouette.

Despite its sporty character, its clean and simple shape also makes it easy to combine with more elegant pieces. The Teddy merino wool fleece is available in several colours, including beige, ecru, chocolate brown and grey.

The Teddy women's merino wool sweatshirt is ideal for temperatures of approximately 5–15°C, making it a great choice for colder mornings, windy days and trips throughout the year. Merino wool fleece may naturally shed individual fibres at the beginning of use. This gradually decreases over time. It offers a natural alternative to polyester fleece.

Merino Wool Jackets for Colder Days

The Lana jacket is made from 100% short-pile merino wool fleece with a weight of 450 gsm. It features a high collar, raglan sleeves and pockets hidden within the seams. Elasticated cuffs and an adjustable hem allow you to adapt the jacket to your silhouette and weather conditions.

The Lana jacket is available in two lengths and in beige and grey. Its sporty cut provides freedom of movement, while the minimalist design makes it easy to incorporate into everyday outfits. Wear it with trousers, a long skirt or a dress to create layered looks for the city or a weekend getaway.

The Mali merino wool jacket is a slightly more elegant option. It features elasticated cuffs, a generous shawl collar, a relaxed boxy silhouette and two pockets hidden in the seams, and fastens with buttons. The underside of the collar is finished with viscose lining for greater comfort and to prevent the wool from scratching the neck.

ASIDE merino wool jackets are designed as functional outerwear for the autumn and winter season. They perform well in temperatures down to around 0°C, thanks to the viscose lining, which not only provides a refined finish but also offers additional protection from the wind.

Merino Wool in the ASIDE Collection

In this collection, the fabric is one of the most important elements of each design. We use merino wool with a distinctive fleece texture that provides warmth while remaining soft and comfortable to wear.

According to the manufacturer's information, the fabric is produced using virgin wool obtained from live animals without harm to their health or life, and is manufactured in dyeing facilities holding OEKO-TEX certification.

Selected designs also include additional details that enhance comfort. Teddy sweatshirts feature soft cotton lining inside the collar and cotton binding, while the Lana and Mali jackets are finished with a 100% viscose lining.

How to Style Merino Wool Jackets and Sweatshirts

Merino wool jackets and sweatshirts can become everyday wardrobe staples for colder days, regardless of the season. Pair an oversized Teddy sweatshirt with wide-leg trousers and sneakers, wear it with jeans, or throw it over a dress.

The Lana and Mali jackets can be worn as the main outer layer in an everyday city outfit or taken on trips when you need something warm and comfortable.

Neutral colours and simple silhouettes make these pieces easy to combine with the rest of the ASIDE collection. As a result, the same wool jacket or sweatshirt can work across many different outfits.

Local Production

ASIDE designs are made in small sewing studios and tailoring workshops in Kraków, Poland. Local production allows us to remain close to the manufacturing process and maintain greater control over the quality of each piece.

How to Care for Merino Wool Clothing

Wool does not require frequent washing. To refresh your sweatshirt or jacket, it is usually enough to air it out, gently shake it out or brush it with a soft-bristled brush. Small stains are best cleaned locally.

If washing is necessary, we recommend hand washing at a maximum temperature of 30°C using a gentle wool detergent. After washing, excess water can be gently absorbed with a towel, and the garment should be dried flat away from direct heat sources.

If you are unsure how to clean the product safely, you can also take it to a professional dry cleaner.

FAQ - Your Most Frequently Asked Questions

Are Teddy sweatshirts warm?

Yes. Teddy sweatshirts are made from 100% merino wool fleece in 380 or 450 gsm. On the product page, we recommend wearing them at temperatures of approximately 5–15°C. However, your comfort will also depend on the other layers you are wearing and your individual sensitivity to temperature.

Will a merino wool jacket keep me warm?

Yes. Our jackets are made from 100% merino wool fleece with a weight of 450 gsm. Unlike many similar designs, our jackets are finished with a lining, which significantly improves thermal comfort by protecting you from the wind without compromising the natural properties of merino wool.

This means the jackets can be worn at temperatures down to approximately 0°C. However, your comfort will also depend on the other layers you are wearing and your individual sensitivity to temperature.

What is the difference between the Teddy sweatshirt versions?

The Teddy model is available in several variations, including the regular-length version and Teddy Long.

The regular version is finished at the bottom with cotton binding, while Teddy Long features an elasticated drawstring tunnel with stoppers, allowing you to adjust its length and silhouette. Teddy Long also includes functional pockets.

Does merino wool need to be washed frequently?

No. The Teddy sweatshirt, also referred to as a merino wool fleece, should primarily be aired out and spot-cleaned in accordance with wool care recommendations.

If a full wash is necessary, the product should be hand washed at a maximum temperature of 30°C and dried flat.

Is merino wool fleece itchy?

It depends. Wool fleece consists of raw fibres with a textured, slightly coarse finish, which means it has different characteristics from merino wool knitwear produced using a different manufacturing process.

Whether it feels itchy depends on your individual sensitivity. To improve comfort, we use a soft cotton finish inside the collar to prevent irritation around the neck. Teddy Merino Wool Sweatshirts are designed to be worn as a second layer.

Can wool fleece shed fibres?

Yes. Wool fleece may naturally shed individual fibres, particularly at the beginning of use. This should gradually decrease over time.

Before wearing your Teddy sweatshirt for the first time, you can gently shake it out or brush it with a soft-bristled brush.

How do I choose the right size?

Teddy sweatshirts and Lana and Mali jackets are available in sizes XS/S and M/L. Each design has different measurements and construction, so before purchasing, we recommend comparing your measurements with the size chart on the relevant product page.

You can also use our size calculator, which will help you select the right size and indicate the key measurements you should pay attention to for a particular design.
